Original language description
The paper presents a two-dimensional human body model for impact applications. The model is structured as a linked open-tree multi-body system implemented using the Lagrange's equations with multipliers in the MATLAB computational environment. The modelaccommodates correct biofidelic data (mass, inertia and joint stiffness) to perform real human body behaviour under impact loading. A contact algorithm is also implemented in order to ensure correct external loading. The model is validated in a pedestrian impact scenario by comparison to experimental data.
