    This paper deals with the research and development of high voltage three pole earthing switch. Theoretical analysis of electrical short circuit currents was the main idea for innovative design with shorter and simpler current paths. Also mechanical and kinematics parameters are better than previous classical design. Project management methods and concurrent engineering economic analysis were also used and lead to optimizations design, material cost and labour cost. Prototyping method enabled to shortenperiod of development period. Output of this work is the new structure of more simple and more reliable earthing system including also valuable economic effects.
