Numerical analyses of electric equipment heating
Original language description
The electric equipment heating is one of very important parameters that influence equipment operation and its life-time. The cooling of most of the electric power network components is based mainly on the natural convection of surrounding air. Numericalsimulations based on CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) can be used to analyse the equipment heating resp. cooling. Commercial codes such as ANSYS FLUENT or CFX can be employed to investigate the air flow and thermal fields. The paper deals with numerical analyses of heating of electric power network equipment. Two examples of nu-merical analyses are presented. The first one deals with cooling of the transformer 22/0.4kV that is placed into a concrete distribution station. The second one is focused on overhead line with AlFe conductors. This task is related to the line ampacity analyses.
