Theoretical study and design of a new calorimetric tunnel
Original language description
The University of West Bohemia, New technology Research centre, will be using one of the new buildings also for hosting the calorimetric tunnel. With respect to our experience with currently operated calorimetric tunnel with lower power and smaller size,a new tunnel of higher power and better parameters was designed. The tunnel was proposed on the base of 1D analytical calculations respecting wide range of operational regimes and possible different target applications. Together with analytical computations, also some simplified CFD simulations were done. These simulations gave us information about the flow field in the tunnel and especially in the measuring area. Some non-standardized parts of the tunnel were proposed, disigned and verified with the use of CFD. The tunnel deisgn together with its parameters and results of CFD analysis are presented in the paper.
