Equilibrium background of gradual transitions and Ehrenfest equations in binary system
Original language description
At thermal analysis two types of processes are detected: monotropic, where the initial state of the sample unstable and enantiotropic where the initial state is stable but becoming unstable after equilibrium temperature of transition is achieved. The course of enantiotropic processes is therefore limited by so called equilibrium background - temperature dependence of equilibrium states. According to the equilibrium background four types of processes can be distinguished in binary systems, one of which -called gradual transition- is defined by two equilibrium temperatures Tin, Tfin), in which the criteria (proposed by Ehrenfest) for the second kind phase transition are valid. Corresponding Ehrenfest equations are derived for these temperatures
