The increasing consumption of electricity brings in higher demands related to producing energy. Getting the energy from renewable power sources seems a good way to cover all demands in the future, however, non-stable and hardly predictable power has beenmaking harder to effectively manage the power transmission level. Larger-scale energy storage is efficient tool allowing stabilization of the power transmission. Vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) represents interesting solution of stationary energy storage. Despite the fact, development of VRFB has taken a huge step forward, the acquisition costs has still been very high. Carbon bipolar plates (CBP) separate the cells, however, allow electrical connection between them. They are vital for propper function of the whole battery. High electrical conductivity, mechanical stability, long-term chemical resistance against acid vanadium-based electrolytes and the low price are the key parameters of the CBP.
