Nonstoichiometric phases constitute a large family of technologicaly important. the phase equlibria in thase systems including the hemogeneus crystalochemicals reactions of the involvendcrystal defects can be effectively treatred bay thermodiunamic potential derived from the Gibbs free energy by Legendre transformation with respect to free components. Influence of variable stoichiiometry on material properties such as isobaric thermal expansion, compressibility and head capacity is analyzed.
