    Function sample of laser cladded coating with high hardness based on (TiW)C carbide in Ni alloy

  • Original language description

    Function sample coating laser cladded from new experimental powder by Oerlikon Metco company. The powder consist of 60 wt % of (TiW)C1-x and 60 wt % of NiCrBSi alloy. The new type of carbide excels with higher hardness and higher thermodynamic stability compare to commonly used tungsten carbide. For the new powder, the laser cladding parameters were optimized to achieve material full potential. The hardness of the new coating reach up to 2370 HV1. The coating is determined for applications with high demands on hardness and wear resistance.
