The paper deals with the issue of phase analysis of soil sediments with regard to the presence of asbestos minerals. The area of investigation was set in the vicinity of the Plasská dam, where an increased incidence of cancer has been recorded. The work tested the use of experimental methods with regard to detecting the presence of the minerals sought. The aim of the work was to establish a procedure for detecting minerals in soil sediments.
