The author of the article considers the textbook (the choice of it or its creation) an important challenge in the process of creating and teaching language courses. One of the reasons is currently insufficient research related to textbooks used in adult language education, which is something that needs to be pointed out. Foreign language textbooks should be seen as a valuable source of didactic and authentic texts to remain an important part of the Communicative Language Teaching.
