Nutritional support during chemotherapy treatment in a patient with small intestine cancer.
Original language description
Patients with nausea and vomiting refractory to highly effective antiemetic therapy may profit from even a short term application of parenteral nutrition between the cycles of chemotherapy. Maintaining good nutritional status has effect on better tolerance of multimodal oncological treatment, helps to keep optimal doses and intervals of chemotherapy and helps to maintain good performance status and quality of life. Such patients should be sent early for nutritional intervention and they benefit from multidisciplinary decisions.
