Approaches to Soft Targets Protection in the Czech Republic: A Comparison with European Union Guidelines

  • Original language description

The development of guidance materials is one of the key points in both the European Union Action Plan to Support the Protection of Public Spaces and the Framework of Soft Targets Protection approved by the government of the Czech Republic. The goal of this chapter is to assess the degree of compliance by the Czech Framework and guidance materials related to the protection of soft targets with European Union Good Practices to Support the Protection of Public Spaces. The absence of requirement for the assessment of security and physical protection issues in the design process of a new facility in the Czech Framework was identified as being the most significant discrepancy. Subsequently, the state of grant support for the protection of soft targets in the Czech Republic was analysed.
