Original language description
The article describes the archaeological research of the South Bohemian Airport in České Budějovice and. Airports in the Czech Republic have been studied only sporadically, and comparative research is almost entirely lacking. The presented multidisciplinary research sheds entirely new light on the site and complements the previously known historical aspects of one of the most important air bases in South Bohemia with new information. Among other things, it represents a significant contribution to the fields of conflict archaeology and military archaeology of the 20th–21st centuries, while overall enhancing the source base of Czech aeroarchaeology and modern-period archaeology.
