The Importance of Potato Tuber Proteins and their Response to Nitrogen Fertilization.
Original language description
The paper presents the results of the research of the effects of nitrogenous fertilization on proteins levels in potato tubers. The field trials with various nitrogenous fertilization intensities of 60 kg.ha-1, 120 kg.ha-1 and 100 + 20 kg.ha-1 (an additional dose of nitrogenous fertilization - 20 kg.ha-1 of nitrogen was applied during vegetation) were established in two different growing regions for period of two years (1998, 1999). Three varieties (Marabel, Karin, Rosella) were tested in these field trials. The method for measuring the protein content in potato tubers with Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 (SNYDER and DESBOROUGH 1978) was used in this analysis. The results of the protein analysis in the analysed plant material are as follows: High statistical significant differences in tuber protein contents in dependence of variety have been found. The influence of region is also statistical significant. The nitrogenous fertilization can increase the protein content in potato tubers. The
