    For further progress in the hybrid breeding of oil seed rape (Brassica napus) it will be very useful to recognize the sporophytic self-incompatibility (SI) system. The progress in the research of SI molecular-genetics basis, especially in the study of genes linked to the S-locus - SLG, SRK, SLL1, SLL2 are very effective. On the general problems in the study of SI in oil rape is identification of particular S haplotype or definition of new alleles.
