Original language description
In 1999 eight varieties of proso millet were grown in four repeated cycles on plots in České Budějovice and in Červený Dvůr. Mixture samples from four repeated growths were used for chemical analysis of heavy metals (cadmium, arsenic and mercury) in roots, stems and leaves and seeds. Cd, As and Hg contents in the plant are largely influenced by soil conditions of the stand, mainly by the type of bond of a given element in soil.Variety has only negligible influence. Sequential analysis of heavy metal insoil yields more accurate data than the analysis of total content in soil.
