Possibilities of biotechnologies in agricultural systems of mountain regions
Original language description
Problems connected with decreasing of energy costs made us to look for possibilities of introduction of unconventional technologies. We see one of alternatives in production and use of biogas from cattle keeping - semi-liquid manure from litterless stabling. Analysis from mountain farms in Šumava of the acreage of 44 thousand hectar proved: 1. Mountain conditions, regarding to high yields of perennial fodder crops, are suitable for intensive cattle keeping and thus also for introduction of biogas technologies. 2. Agricultural system must be devided in two subsystems - the central one on arable land with permanent cattle stabling and perennial fodder crops, and secondary one - with organized and cooperating meadow and pasture farming with winter stabling of cattle. 3. Bruttoenergy production does 94.2 GJ per hectar of agricultural land and energetic gain 72.6 GJ at the effectivity coefficient 4.35 and cattle stock per hectare hz 0.7, which presents cattle density like in the Austrian Re
