Original language description
Paper deals with the polymorphism of DGAT1 gene in Holstein sires. Presented results confirmed the significant effect of polymorphism at locus DGAT1 on the breeding value for milk production. The LL sires exceeded the AA ones in fat % and yield, and conversely, AA sires had higher breeding values for milk and protein yield. According to the intermediary performance of heterozygous LA, the incomplete dominance may be expected. As that, DGAT1 can become an important selection criterion in the future.

Příspěvek se věnuje polymorfismu genu DGAT1 u plemeníků holštýnského skotu. Prezentované výsledky potvrzují významný vliv polymorfních variant DGAT1 na ukazatele mléčné produkce. Býci s genotypem LL převyšují býky s variantou AA v plemenných hodnotách pro produkci a procentický obsak tuku v mléce. Opačně homozygotní býci s genotypem AA vykazují vyšší plemenné hodnoty pro produkci mléka a bílkovin. Z intermediárních plemenných hodnot heterozygotních LA býků lze usuzovat na neúplnou dominanci v tomto genu. DGAT1 se do budoucna může stát významným selekčním kritériem.
