Failed attempt of Cryptosporidium andersoni infection in lambs

Original language description

Four lambs 4 months old were inoculated with Cryptosporidium andersoni oocysts (bovine isolate) in a dose of 5 x 10 6 per animal followed later by 1 x 10 7 oocysts per animal. No animal shed Cryptosporidium oocysts during 56 days post infection, no lambsshowed clinical symptomps of cryptosporidiosis and no macroscopic changes were detected in the abonasum immediately after autopsy. Histological examinations did not demonstrate the occurence of Cryptosporidium in the abomasum and other selected organs.

Czech description

Čtyři jehňata ve věku 4 měsíců byla infikována oocystami C. andersoni v dávce 5 × 106 a následně 1 × 107 oocyst na zvíře. Žádné z infikovaných jehňat nevylučovalo oocysty po dobu 56 dní po infekci. Nebyly zjištěny žádné klinické symptomy kryptosporidiózya při pitvě nebyly zjištěny žádné makroskopické změny ve slezu. Histologické vyšetření neprokázalo výskyt C. andersoni ve slezu ani jiných orgánech.
