  • Original language description

We evaluated the genetic diversity of Czech Red cattle, Polish Red cattle and Slovak Pinzgauer cattle, which are currently maintained as genetic resources. Calculated parameters were allele frequencies, heterozygosity, polymorphic information content andeffective number of alleles. The polymorphism was detected in 5 coding loci (prolactin, kappa-casein, ß-lactoglobulin, growth hormone, pituitary transcription factor 1) and 12 microsatellite loci. Lowest genetic diversity on coding loci was found in Polish Red Cattle (HET = 0,313), while the heterozygosity in Czech Red and Slovak Pinzgauer was comparably higher than 0,4. In microsatellite loci, the heterozygosity was higher in Polish (0,418) than in Czech Red cattle (0,390), in Slovak Pinzgauer the microsatellites loci were not evaluated.
