The aim of this study was to evaluate the body condition score changes in the opening period of lactation and to determine its influence on the length of insemination interval and service period. In the Czech red pied (C) and Holstein (H) cows herds there were observed the body condition score (BCS) and reproduction indexes (insemination interval and service period). There was recorded the significant decrease of BCS post partum in both breeds ( 0,86 point in H breed, 0,55 point in C breed). The statistically singnificant correlation coefficients were found between BCS changes and the length of insemination interval (rxy= -0,23++) in H breed and the length of service period (rxy= -0,16++) in C breed. Simultaneously, the regression models for the variables insemination interval and service period length were determined.

Czech description
Cílem této práce bylo zhodnotit změny tělesné kondice v časné fázi laktace a určit jejich vliv na délku reprodukčních ukazatelů (inseminační interval a servis perioda). U dojnic plemen holštýn (H) a české strakaté (C) byla sledována tělesná kondice (BCS)a vybrané reprodukční ukazatele.Byl zaznamenán signifikantní pokles tělesné kondice po porodu ( 0,86 bodu u dojnic plemene H a 0,55 bodu u dojnic plemene C).Dále byly zjištěny statisticky významné korelační koeficienty mezi změnami BCS a délkou inseminačního intervalu u plemene H (rxy= -0,23++) a délkou servis periody u plemene C (rxy= -0,16++).Byly vypočítány regresní modely pro proměnné délka inseminačního intervalu a servis periody.
