The presented study is focused at the historical landscape structure and husbandry in the cadastre of the former Ondřejov village which is today a part of the Boletice Military Area and, as a living settlement, does not exist any more. The interest was paid namely to the area of Ondřejov and Chlumany villages and their surroundings situated at the foot of the Chlum mountain on the borders of Šumava Protected Landscape Area. The antique maps of the 1st and 2nd Military Survey and the Stabile Cadastre were used for the land cover and land use analysis together with some selected written sources. The existing methodology of interpretation of historical map sources developed in the Geoinformatic Laboratory of UJEP was applied. The results show that an ingenious husbandry took place at the area in the middle of 19th Century including mowing, grazing of a notable amount of cattle, ploughing and forestry.
