Effect of cultivation system on glycoalcaloids content in potato tubers
Original language description
In the years 2002-2005 experiments with selected potato varieties in conventional and organic farming were started at the altitude of 460 m. The contents of glycoalcaloids in potato tubers in dependence of the farming method applied and the particular year were studied. Varieties with deffering vegetation period durations were chosen: Rosara - very early, Marabel - early, Karin - early, Satina - medium early, Bionta - late. The achieved results have confirmed a high rate of the glycoalcaloid contents dependence of the variety. The impact of the particular year on the glycoalcaloid contents has also been recorded. A trend of increased glycoalcaloid contents in potato tubers from organic farming has also been found.
