This chapter focuses on the analysis of environmental impacts of the organic framing system and its comparison with the conventional one. There are five key areas of environmental impacts described - Soil fertility maintenance and improvement, Nutrient recirculation and prevention of foreign substance entry into agroecosystem, Water management in the landscape and water protection from pollution, Air quality improvement, GHG emission reduction and Genetic resources and biodiversity protection. The impacts on the air quality and GHG emission reduction are discussed more in details. This subchapter is based on currently carried studies on the GHG emissions within the organic and conventional farming systems, using the simplified LCA analysis. The whole process of life cycle assessment was processed in accordance with standards ISO 140.
