Common Rye (Secale cereale L.), Semi-perenial Rye (Secale cereale L. var. multicaule) and Triticale (xTriticosecale Wittm.)

  • Original language description

Set of 5 winter triticale and 4 winter rye varieties, cultivated in 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 at the experimental station of Department of Plant Production, Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague - Uhříněves in organic farming system was evaluated in view of selected production parameters and growing characteristics. Evaluated triticale varieties produced average yield of 6.98 t.ha-1; statistically significant differences between individual varieties were found. Triticale varieties Tulus (7.56 t.ha-1) and Kvido (7.20 t.ha-1) reached the best results in our experiments. Evaluated rye varieties produced average yield of 6.76 t.ha-1; differences between varieties were slighter, when compared to triticale. Hybrid rye varieties KWS Magnifico (7.12 t.ha-1) and Palazzo (6.98 t.ha-1) produced the highest yields in our experiments. Statistically significant differences between evaluated years were found, in favour of harvest year 2014.
