    Effects of titanium dioxide nanomaterials on plants growth

  • Original language description

    Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO 2 NPs) display an array of effects from negative, to neutral and positive when applied on plants. Importantly, when the right concentrations are selected, these nanoparticles have positive effects on seed germination, the vigor of young and mature plants and can also increase crop yield and nutritional value. They stimulate the production of certain enzymes and proteins, enhance chlorophyll content and photosynthesis, promote nutrient uptake, and increase stress tolerance. Yet, the underlying mechanism of these beneficial effects is still not fully understood.
