Plant 7SL RNA genes and their genomic organization in hop (Humulus lupulus L.)
Original language description
Sequencing, RFLP and analysis of hop 7SL RNA genes by electrophoresis of DNA and cDNA heteroduplexes revealed significant polymorphism of 7SL RNA encoding sequences in hop. Hop 7SL RNA genes are partly organised in genome clusters being distributed in different genome positions. RFLP patterns and the presence of truncated 7SL RNA pseudogenes suggest that some rearrangements of these genes occurred during evolution and/or breeding and selection of hop. Diffrential expression of hop 7SL RNA genes was detected, suggesting an involment of some specific 7SL RNA variants in specialized SRP-mediated cellular processes.
