Current distribution of Branchinecta gaini on James Ross Island and Vega Island
Original language description
During the field surveys on James Ross Island and Vega Island (northeastern Antarctic Peninsula), we documented the presence of the Antarctic fairy shrimp, Branchinecta gaini, in freshwater lakes and pools across the whole area. This is the first record of a species that was considered as extinct in this region.
