Hard and Soft Information to Achieve the Success of Project
Original language description
The paper focuses on the issue of managers' information needs, especially on project managers. A pilot empirical study investigating certain aspects of the work of project managers, particularly the perceived importance of various competencies and skills was carried out using a questionnaire. Based on the total score of the perceived importance, the most important competencies and skills were found. All the investigated competencies and skills can be linked to the needed information, which may be hard or soft. The results show that among the competencies and skills perceived by project managers as the most important ones significantly prevail those that are linked to soft information. These findings are discussed with respect to the author's long-time experience and published work and also the results of other authors published in this area in the last years. © 2019 IEEE.
