Aim of this article is to compile a concise and structured description of the ?Strategic Plan of the city of České Budějovice? that was approved in 2008 and is prepared for the period 2008-2013. Such description is completed with our commentaries, observations and recommendations. Chapter 2 attends to concept, structure and process of the Plan creation and of its connections with other plans, programs and projects related to the area of České Budějovice. The Plan consists from a strategic vision of thecity development (a long-term vision), from four programs of the strategic city development (A. ? D.) and from methods and principles of the Plan (its programs) realization. Set of supplements also makes a part of the Plan. The Plan was being created in2006-2008. Its elaboration was coordinated by the ?Committee for the Strategic Planning and Development? established by the České Budějovice municipal board, by the city representatives, and by the ?Department of Development and Tourism?
