Original language description
The aim of this study was to learn about the influence of active intervention program upon the amount and redestribution of subcutaneous fat of overweight and obese teenagers. The aim was not only to project a procedure to decrease overweight but also todescribe the correlation of overweight and obesity risks for teenagers. The programme is based on yoga techniques and yoga sets of exercises. Sixty-three young teenagers took part in the intervention program, which lasted for twelve weeks. There were significant positive changes in the amount of subcutaneous fat. The correct hypothesis about the effect of the intervention program was confirmed. The data that were gained were statistically processed and evaluated by the system of statistic programs STATISTICA 7 CZ in cooperation with bio-medicine laboratory ČVUT Prague.
