Teaching English to Learners with Limited Access to Foreign Language Instruction
Original language description
The paper presents a recent Socrates Lingua project aimed at exposing marginalized groups to foreign languages. Specifically, it shows the implementation of one of the sub-projects in the Czech Republic where English lessons were designed and organized for a group of physically and/or mentally impaired lower secondary pupils. The project proved that learners with special educational needs can benefit from foreign language lessons at various levels on condition that their needs are taken into consideration and appropriate teaching techniques are selected.
