The review of the anthology deals with the analysis of American regional women writers in the first Czech translation. The authors presented in the anthology include Kate Chopin, Sarah Orne Jewett, Gloria Anzaldúa and Sandra Cisneros among others. The anthology is divided into several sections according to American regions (New England, American South, Mexican-American border) and it becomes united by the female voice of the authors in search of their own identity in terms of either region, race, ethnicity or gender.
