The article contains an analysis of selected statistical methods for detection of outliers, possibly deviators in the results of measurements. these methods are an integral part of proficiency testing evaluation. the participation in proficiency testingprogrammers is a part of assessment of laboratories and it is required by the Czech accreditation institute. the article analyses in detail the following methods: Mandel's statistics of inter-laboratory consistency, Grubbs' tests for outliers and Dean-Dixon's test.
