In this project, scientists and educators from 5 EU countries joined forces to reach their common goal: to improve the general public's plant literacy through more efficient and attractive botany teaching at all school levels. This goal has to be reached via innovative teacher training. At the conference, innovative teaching materials developed within this project are presented.Plenary lectures: Modern science is providing a wealth of new insights into the role of plants in our environment, many of which are crucial to the future of humanity and the achievement of sustainable development goals. It is therefore essential to transfer this knowledge into education. Increasing the attractiveness of botanical education can only be achieved through innovative educational methods and approaches, new ideas and exciting activities. The speakers invited to the first part of the conference will therefore present valuable and up-to-date insights from both plant ecology and education. The second part of the conference is dedicated to a Forum of ideas and best practices. In this part, the conference participants have the opportunity to present their findings and research results, exchange experiences, share ideas and discuss new possibilities in a joint effort to increase plant awareness.
