The managerial audit is and instrument which can help to increase an efficiency of management of SMEs. Basic principles of the methodology consist of application of directed interviews. In each firm there are two interviews organized. The first has an analytical approach and it is used especially for finding out known level of business processes (production, marketing-sale, economy-financial management and human resources management). In the frame of the second interviews there are used principles of coaching. The aim of this is to find a possible way to improve problematic processes (part of process). Based on management evaluation in 31 SMEs in the Czech Republic, it was discovered, that the worst processes were personal management and marketing-sales branches.
