The aim of this paper is to give short information about the utilization of GIS tools for the recreational potential modeling in The Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve. GIS has served not only as an inventory tool but there were also used various analytical tools, which enable to make overlays of different data layers and to gain thus new information. A specific function of nature recreational potential was created on the basis of natural characteristics. Socioeconomic characteristics describing tourism and recreational activities were used as partial variables which created a base for a model of socioeconomic potential. Models of both functions in the area were interpolated from point pattern. This pattern included centroids of cadastres. Values of both functions were then used for the area regionalization from the point of its tourism and recreation use. The regionalization was done on the base of fuzzy clustering.
