Using Malmquist index for evaluation of life quality development in the districts of the Czech Republic
Original language description
The main aim of our contribution is an evaluation of life quality in the districts of the Czech Republic during last ten years. As the life quality is depended on many criterions, we had to choose some of multicriteria decision making methods. For evaluation of particular years and districts the Data envelopment analysis (DEA) method was used. This method was initially proposed to evaluate the efficiency. In this paper the level of efficiency represents the level of life quality. In order to assess development of district's efficiency we decided to use Malmquist productivity index (MI). At first we used DEAP SW to compute MI but we had problems with inclusion of uncontrolled inputs into model. Therefore it was necessary to create own application in Maple. The comparison of widely used DEAP with our own procedure was an additional aim of this contribution.
