Gary Stanley Becker, the spiritual father of imperial economic thought
Original language description
Gary Stanley Becker (1930 - 2014) was a prominent American economist, the Nobel Prize winner in economics (awarded in 1992 to extend the sphere of microeconomic analysis to new areas of human behavior and human relations). His theory is based on the assumption that one takes decisions in all areas of life according to the same principles and in the same way as in a market shift. It perceives man as a form of economic and economic approach to the study of human behavior that he considers to be generic and applicable to all human actions. According to G. Becker, one behaves in any decision based on the principle of rationality, whether he or she realizes it or not. The rational creature tries to maximize its benefits in all life situations in accordance with its own preferences. G. Becker, as one of the earliest economists, dealt with issues of racial discrimination, crime, or family organization, areas that were previously sociological or legal rather than economic.
