PRODUCTIVITY OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES OF V4 COUNTRIES
Original language description
The efficient use of company inputs is reflected in productivity indicators and impacts companies' overall profitability. However, the agricultural sector is specific in its irreplaceability, primarily ensuring food production and fulfilling environmental tasks. In rural areas, it also mainly fulfills social tasks. However, the high cost of this sector and the impact of the Common Agricultural Policy require that, in terms of economic factors, a subsidy policy is necessary for the farmers themselves, without which many agricultural enterprises would be unable to function. The contribution deals with evaluating productivity concerning the efficiency of agricultural enterprises, considering the subsidy policy, in the V4 countries in the last 20 years. It can be positively assessed that the productivity of the V4 countries is growing faster than that of the EU. The highest statistical link of profitability on partial productivity indicators was demonstrated in Hungary, a slightly weaker one for the average company in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
