Implementation of Measures against Technostress in Manufacturing Companies in the Czech Republic
Original language description
Nowadays, companies are increasingly leaning towards digitalization of their workplaces for various reasons. However, this also increases the incidence of technostress in the workplace among employees, who often do not have sufficient knowledge and skills for the newly introduced technologies, and thus digitalization represents a major stressor for them, which is often overlooked by said companies. The aim of the research is to identify the current state of implementation of measures against technostress in manufacturing companies in the Czech Republic, also to identify frequently used measures against technostress introduced in workplaces, and subsequently to determine the statistical significance of selected factors on the implementation of measures that counteract technostress in the workplace. The research also focuses on the degree of digitalization in workplaces and the implementation of stress management interventions and their connection to establishing technostress measures. A total of 371 manufacturing companies in the Czech Republic were included in the research. The companies were divided mainly according to size with the number of employees being the main criterion. Descriptive statistics and the chi-square test were used for data analysis. The results point to a low proportion of companies that actively implement measures against technostress and also to the limited diversity of preferred measures against technostress. The chi-square test also confirmed the statistical significance of the relationship between the implementation of interventions against technostress and the factor of digitalization, as well as the factor of the implementation of stress management interventions.
