Intergenerational changes of ethical values in family businesses
Original language description
The paper sets forth a discussion of the perceived intergenerational changes in ethical values that have been identified by the founding generation. This discussion is formed around a series of case studies of several family businesses operating in the service sector inthe Czech Republic. The objective of the present paper is to assess whether there is a shift in the perception of ethical values between generations of family businesses from the perspective of the founders. Through the implementation of structured guided interviews, acomprehensive understanding of individual owners' perspectives was facilitated, thereby offering valuable insights into the intergenerational perception of ethical values held by the founders. The paper makes a significant contribution to the field of intergenerationalrelationships by offering a novel perspective on the evolution of founders' perception of ethical values with the arrival of the next generation in the context of selected family businesses in the Czech Republic.
