Preliminary survey of genetic variation of tench (Tinca tinca) from the Czech Republic and China

  • Original language description

Tench is distributed in Eurasia. In Europe, it is an important supplemental fish species either for the table, for stocking purposes and for game fishing. In 1999 the production of tench in Czech, France, and Spain reached 332, 1200 and 161 tons respectively. It is also a species under recent process of domestication. In order to further develop culture of tench, the need for tench fry of high quality and fast growth is increasing in Czech and other European countries. In China, tench is only distributed in the north-west of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Recently tench has been introduced from Czech Republic to Hubei Province, central part of China. Primary growth test showed that tench grew much faster than it did in Czech. The tench populations from Czech and China may serve as sources of studies on genetic manipulations of the tench such as crossbreeding, hybridization and selection, and sex control. The preliminary purpose of this study was to investigate genetic polymorphi

Předběžný průzkum genetické proměnlivosti lína (Tinca tinca) z ČR a z Číny

  • Czech description

Lín se vyskytuje v Euroasii. V Evropě je významným doplňkovým druhem. V roce 1999 dosahovala produkce lína v České republice, Francii a Španělsku 332, 1200 a 161 tun.
