    Utilization of genome manipulation for sex control of common carp (Cyprinus carpioL)

    The effect of oral administration of 17?-methyltestosteron (17?-MT) in combination with genome manipulation was used for sex control and sex reversal of common carp during period of 8 weeks. Administration of 100 mg (17?-MT) in the food in period 42 to 60 days that started 55 days after hatching resulted in 61.5% - 100% males. Concentration of (17?-MT) in water during hormonal treatment varied from 0.916 #g/l to 2.972 #g/l. Taken together, it can be concluded that the oral administration of 17?-MT in combination with genome manipulation can be used for successful masculinization of females in common carp.

    Orálne podávanie 17?-methyltestosterónu v perióde ôsmych týždňov v kombinácii z využitím genómových manipulácií bolo aplikované k indukciu zvratu pohlavia u kapra obyčajného. Podávanie krmiva z obsahom 100 mg/kg 17? - methyltestosterónu v trvaní 42-60 dní zo začiatkom 55 dní od vyliahnutia vyústilo k 61.5% - 100% invertovaných samcov kapra obyčajného. Koncetrácia 17?-MT vo vode počas podávania MT varíroval v rozmedzí 0.916 #g/l to 2.972 #g/l. Záverom je možné konštatovať že orálna aplikácia 17?-MT v kombinácii z genómovými manipuláciami môže byť použitá k úspešnej masculinizácii kapra obyčajného.
