Optically stimulated non-linear optics effects in semiconducting nano-crystallites

  • Original language description

Inorganic nano-crystallites (NC) (CdO, ZnO, ZnS, ZnSe) incorporated into photopolymer matrices (7.5% by weight) were optically treated by coherent bicolor nano-second laser pulses at Er3+ glass laser lines at 1.54 and 0.77 mu m. We have achieved a sufficiently good effective second-order susceptibility coefficients (up to 2.8 pm/V) at wavelengths 1.54 mu m. The maximal second-order optical susceptibility was achieved for NC sizes equal to about 30 nm. Relaxation processes are studied.
