Damage to dominant grass species by Fusarium ssp. in permanent grassland
Original language description
In the yaers 1999-2000 we observed the spread and harmful effects of pathogenic fungi (Microchrodium nivale - Fusarium nivale or Gerlachia nivalis as inperfect stage) - the snow mould, causing the dying of some grass species in permanent grasslands. Theevaluation was carried out in dominant species (Deschampsia caespitosa, Festuca rubra, Holcus mollis) in central part of the Bohemian Forest. The area of interest involved three variants: Mulched once, unharvested growth ang the mown growth (once). The phytopatological evaluation took place during vegetation periods in 1999-2000 in three particular times (May, June, July). Our investigation has showh the most considerable development of the funfi of the genus Fusarium in the unharvested growth with serious decline of Festuca rubra, which deteriorates the conditions for growing subsequent fodder crops. On the other hand, the mown growth showed the least extent of fungi attacked dominant grass species. The least occurence of harmful Fusari
