    Epilimnetic alkaline phosphatase activity (APA) was measured in longitudinal profiles of the canyon-shaped, eutrophic Sau Reservoir (Catalonia, Spain) in 1997?2000. During periods of stable stratification and high Chlorophyll a (Chl) concentration, APA was high and located mostly in the >2um size-fraction. APA increased towards the dam while concentration of soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP) decreased. In periods of unstable stratification and, deep mixing, and low Chl and SRP concentrations, APA was low and without longitudinal pattern. A high input of mostly dissolved (in the <0.2um size-fraction) phosphatases from the river Ter was found in 1997?98. Analysis of saturation kinetics revealed the kinetic heterogeneity of APA. Low-affinity APA was localised in the >2um (algal) size-fraction while, in the <2um (picoplankton, mainly bacteria + dissolved) size-fraction, high-affinity APA, or a mixture of both, was found.

    V letech 1997-2000 byla měřena aktivita extracelulární alkalické fosfatázy (APA) v podélných profilech kaňonovité přehradní nádrže Sau v Katalánsku (Španělsko). V obdobích stabilní stratifikace, vysoké kontrace chlorofylu a nízké koncentrace reaktivníhofosforu, byla APA vysoká, lokalizovaná v řasové velikostní frakci (>2um), a zvyšovala se směrem od přítoku ke hrázi. V obdobích nestabilní stratifikace a hlubokého míchání byla APA nízká a bez podélného trendu, zatímco koncentrace Chl a SRP byly vysoké.Analýza saturační kinetiky odhalila kinetickou heterogenitu enzymu, nízkoafinní APA byla lokalizována spíše v řasové velikostní frakci, zatímco vysokoafinní ve frakci bakterií a pikosinic.
