Extension of Ixodes ricinus ticks and agents of tick-borne diseases to mountain areas in the Czech Republic

  • Original language description

Along with the shift of the hard tick Ixodes ricinus to higher altitudes observed in the Czech Republic, a corresponding shift of tick-borne infections to higher altitudes has been expected. Therefore I. ricinus ticks, mainly nymphs were investigated forthe presence of tick-borne viruses, tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), Tribec, Eyach, and the spirochaete Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in the Šumava and Krkonoše mountains (Czech Republic). The TBE virus was detected in ticks at 620 m and 720 m above sealevel (a.s.l.), B. burdorferi s.l. was detected in ticks up to 1065 m a.s.l.

Rozšíření klíšťat Ixodes ricinus a původců klíšťaty přenášených nákaz do horských oblastí České republiky

  • Czech description

Společně s posunem výskytu klíšťat Ixodes ricinus do vyšších poloh v České republice byl zaznamenán odpovídající posun klíšťaty přenášených původců nákaz. Nymfy klíšťat z pohoří Šumava a Krkonoše (Česká republika) byly vyšetřovány na přítomnost viru klíšťové encefalitidy (KE), viru Tribeč, viru Eyach a spirochét Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato. Virus KE byl nalezen v klíšťatech z nadmořské výšky 620 a 720 m nad mořem a spirochéty B. burgdorferi s.l. do nadmořské výšky 1065 m nad mořem.
