Original language description
The paper provides the first data on the occurrence of adult proteocephalidean tapeworms (Cestoda) in freshwater fishes from the Peruvian part of the Amazon River. A total of 29 species of proteocephalidean cestodes are reported from 10 species of pimelodid and doradid catfish and the cichlids Astronotus ocellatus and Cichla monoculus. All species are reported from western Amazonia and Peru for the first time, with six taxa representing new geographical records for the Amazon River basin.

Článek poskytuje údaje o výskytu tasemnic řadu Proteocephalidea vyskytujících se ve sladkovodních rybách peruánské Amazonie. Celkem bylo nalezeno 29 druhů v 10 druzích sumců čeledí Pimelodidae a Doradidae a cichlidách druhů Astronotus ocellatus a Cichlamonoculus. Všechny druhy byly zjištěny v západní Amazonii a v Peru poprvé a 6 druhů je uvedeno poprvé z povodí Amazonky.
