    Two new nematode species, Philometra carolinensis sp. n. and P. cynoscionis sp. n., are described from the fish Cynoscion nebulosus in estuaries on the Atlantic coast of South Carolina, USA. Gravid females of the former occur in the host?s gonads, whereas those of the latter in the subcutaneous tissues. The morphology of these species is compared with that of related congeneric species.

    Z ryby Cynoscion nebulosus z ústí řek atlantického pobřeží Jižní Karolíny v USA jsou popsány dva nové druhy hlístic ? Philometra carolinensis sp. n. a Ph. cynoscionis sp. n. Zatímco gravidní samice prvního druhu se vyskytují v gonádách hostitelské ryby,gravidní samice druhého druhu jsou lokalizovány v podkožních tkáních. Morfologie těchto druhů je srovnána s morfologií dalších příbuzných druhů tohoto rodu.
